Biophysics is the study of the physical principles associated with biological systems, and covers a wide range of different aspects, including biophysical experimental techniques and phenomena from the molecular and cellular levels of biology to physiological systems. This minor provides students with an overview of the basic physical and biological principles required to understand biophysics, as well as a survey of biophysical principles particularly as applied to molecular and cellular biology.
This program is part of the School of Natural Science & Mathematics.
The minor in biophysics requires 20 credit hours of course work; at least 8 credit hours must be completed on the IU East campus. All courses for the minor must be completed with a grade of C or better. Successful completion of prerequisites is required before enrolling in other biophysics courses.
