For Incoming & Prospective Students

We're excited to welcome you this fall!

We are going to help you get the most out of your first year at IU East.

IU East specializes in a flexible experience! For many years, IU East has offered students options of on-campus and online courses - this will remain the case. And, whether your classes are on-campus or online - we know your experience will be a great one!

At IU East, you'll have more flexibility in how you learn and engage with your peers and faculty. You can listen to a lecture in the middle of the park or while sipping coffee at your favorite study spot.

Faculty and staff are going to be accessible in more ways than ever—Zoom, email, Canvas, and for on-campus appointments. Our faculty have been teaching on-campus and online for years...We’re ready for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

It's official! You're Part of the Pack!!! The Crimsoncard is the official ID card across all IU campuses. You will need it to take advantage of on-campus student-only opportunities. You can also use your card to print in the Student Technology Centers (STC's).

The CrimsonCard office is not currently issuing new ID cards, but you can get a jump start by submitting your picture now at https://crimsoncard.iu.edu/about/submitting-photo.html. Once we begin producing cards again, you will receive an email (through your IU email account) about picking up your card.

Distance Education (fully online) students will automatically receive a no-photo CrimsonCard in the mail closer to the start of the semester.

Yes, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is working daily to help meet student needs. Students who have been awarded scholarships will continue to receive their scholarship provided they are enrolled at IU East and still meet scholarship requirements. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at eaosfa@iue.edu.

We’re ready for you.  IU East course offerings will include on-campus (with physical distancing) and online. Scheduled online classes will remain online. Some face-to-face classes may be moved to an online or hybrid environment. Students will be notified of any changes to their course schedule.

We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different. It’s important to know that you may forfeit your scholarship(s) by taking a gap year. Please know we are a resource for you when making your decision. We encourage you to speak to the Office of Admissions if you have questions.  To contact the Admissions office, email applynow@iue.edu or visit iue.edu/admissions.
