Chief Dunning is a native of Bloomington, Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University East with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. His career in criminal justice began as a Correctional Officer at the Monroe County Correctional Center. In 1995, he joined the Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) on the Bloomington campus, obtaining his Law Enforcement certification through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He has extensive training in all aspects of law enforcement including serving as a certified instructor in firearms, patrol rifles, and active shooter. In 2011, he moved north to the IUPD-IUPUI division where he has served as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Training Coordinator, and Lieutenant. In 2016, he became the IUPD-East Chief of Police here on the IU East campus.

Lieutenant Bradley Smoker is a lifelong resident of Centerville, Indiana and is a graduate of Centerville High School and Indiana University East (B.S. in Criminal Justice). He was Corrections Officer with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department from 2008 until 2012. Lt. Smoker joined the Centerville Police Department in 2012 and remained in that position until he moved to the Indiana University Police Department – East Division in 2015. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. He is a 2013 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and a certified instructor with primary concentrations in less-lethal weapons. Lt. Smoker is a certified IPMBA bicycle officer and oversees the IUPD-East bicycle program.

Rikki Gerodimos is from Eldorado, Ohio. She is a Certified Police Cyclist. She is a 2012 graduate of National Trail High School, attended three other colleges, and a former collegiate softball player. She is a graduate of the 45th class at the Indiana University Police Academy in 2018. She graduated in December of 2018 with her bachelors in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. After graduation she plans to get her masters in Geographic Information System (GIS). In her role as EHS/EMS Specialist for 2 years she was reponsible for seeing that safety protocols were in place daily on campus and during special events.

Todd Barker is a lifelong resident of Wayne County Indiana. Todd is a high school graduate of Northeastern High School and went on to attend Ball State University. Todd is currently finishing his bachelor degree at Indiana University East, graduating in the spring 2022, with a degree in Criminal Justice. Todd started his career with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department in the jail division. Todd attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1995 and began working as a patrolman with the Sheriff’s Department. While at the Sheriff’s Department Todd held the positions as patrolman, DARE officer, detective, specializing in crimes against children, polygraph examiner, field training officer, and Lieutenant over investigations. In 2018, Todd joined the Indiana University Police Department and currently serves as a patrol/detective. Since joining Indiana University East, Todd had become a certified bike patrolman and a certified instructor.

Officer Janice Passmore is a life long resident of Richmond, In. and a graduate of Richmond High School. She is a graduate of Indiana University East (Assoc. Criminal Justice and numerous IU East classes since). Janice is a 1981 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and served on the Richmond Police Department from May 1981 to Feb. 2011 (29 plus yrs). Over the course of her career at the Richmond Police Department, she served in various positions including: Patrol Officer, Juvenile Officer, Detective, Sergeant Traffic Division, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain in Patrol Division and Captain in the Professional Standards Unit. Officer Passmore joined the Indiana University East Police Department in October of 2011.

Officer Aaron Roberts was born in Greenfield, Indiana and grew up in Bedford, Indiana. He is a graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, attended Kentucky Christian University and is a 2001 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He served in various positions within the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office from 2000 until 2011. Aaron has trained with the US Marshalls in Glynco, GA. and with many other Law Enforcement agencies across Indiana while with the Sheriff’s Office. In 2011, he left the Sheriff’s Office when he joined Indiana University Police Department. Since his employment with the Indiana University Police Department, he has completed training and is now an Indiana Certified Police Trainer through the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.

Officer Swift earned his Master’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Fort Hays State University. Officer Swift did his undergraduate work at Indiana University East earning a B.S. in General Studies as well as an A.S. and B.S. in Criminal Justice. He has completed numerous criminal justice training programs and is a 2000 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana. Tim is also a member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society Alpha Phi Sigma - SIUE Chapter: Zeta Zeta. Officer Swift spent several years in security for the State of Indiana’s Protective Services and was a Training Officer for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department before joining Indiana University East in 2001 as a Police Officer. Tim is a certified Field Training Officer working with the IUPD cadet program. Currently Officer Swift is an Adjunct Faculty at Ivy Tech Community College.

Vicki Chasteen lives in Centerville, Indiana. She started working at IU East in 2008 in the Welcome Center/Information Center. In 2012 started working for the IU Police Department in a civilian capacity.Graduated from Indiana University East in the Spring of 2016 with a Bachelor Degree in General Studies with a Social Behavior concentration. Vicki was awarded an Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech Community College in Office Administration with a medical concentration. She is a member of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa.
