From your basic software and computing needs to advanced visualization that will inspire you, IU East provides the tech to support your educational journey.

Student Technology Centers

At IU East, UITS provides computer labs called Student Technology Centers (STCs) that provide easy access to software needed by most students (view software available on STC computers) and printing.

 All labs are closed Sunday


Please note: Classes are held from time to time in all STCs except the Information Commons, so check the schedule on the door for availability.

Information Commons

The Information Commons in Hayes Hall, Room 115, is not used for classes, so it's always available during regular hours. It features: 

  • a collaborative workstation (use the available computer or plug your device into a large monitor, plug in your own devices, and gather up to 5 people comfortably around the table),
  • 22 Windows workstations,
  • adjoining walk-up IT help desk and CrimsonCard office,
  • and a color printer, scanner and copier.

Virtual Reality (VR) Lab

The VR Lab features 10 VR stations complete with high-end gaming computers and HTC Vive VR headsets, including 3D sound and hand panels.

The lab is open for use during normal campus hours when not being used by a class. The class schedule is posted outside the lab.

First Bank Richmond Tech Zone & IQ Wall

The IQ Wall is 13' wide x 9' high and is available to everyone; just log into it's companion computer with your IU credentials. From there, the possibilities are in your hands.

Interactive Classroom

The Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe and Eugene Cruz-Uribe Interactive Classroom in Springwood Hall features ten collaboration stations, each with a 42" monitor, and two large projection screens that can display content from any collaboration station.

These features empower small groups and the entire class to collaborate for a more immersive experience.

Library

Not just a quiet place to study... in addition to on-site books and resources, the library provides an online portal to thousands of research articles, e-books, and streaming media, with personalized assistance available from professional librarians. 

  • Access to over 200,000 ebooks and 170,000 streaming videos

  • 24 Windows workstations
  • Color printer, scanner and copier

Graf Center

You won't be left tech-less in one of the favorite campus hangout spots. Tech includes:

  • a bank of computers with same software as the STCs,
  • a printer (black & white), scanner, and copier, 
  • a charging station (courtesy of the student government association!),
  • 2 side-by-side TVs ready to connect to your gaming systems,
  • and a projector and big screen (available for special events).
