The last big step: Becoming a licensed teacher
Students completing IU East Education Programs meet all academic requirements for initial licensure (at the appropriate level) in the state of Indiana.
State departments of education each have offices that determine that state's licensing requirements and your eligibility. They are the ultimate resource for information and questions you may have about licensure.

- Other states: We strongly recommend obtaining your license for the state of Indiana first, then applying to transfer your permit if you wish to teach elsewhere. For more information, talk to your advisor or contact the state's Department of Education.
