Once you are eligible for IU Retiree status, you’ll have access to a range of benefits, including IU tuition benefits, medical care coverage, and life insurance. Learn more by visiting Human Resources.

Find out if you qualify for IU’s Phased Retirement Program, which allows certain tenured faculty the option of withdrawing retirement accumulations prior to separating fully from the university.

If you know when you plan on retiring, please contact your dean or chairperson and ask them to fill out the Notice of Retirement Form by October 27. You can also choose to fill the form out on your own. DO WE HAVE A FORM LIKE THIS?

Understand Emeritus status

Typically, departments will consider extending Emeritus status at the time of retirement. If recommended by the department, the title must be included on the retirement eDoc that will route through the usual campus approvals.
