Community engagement is one of IU East's strategic priorities so that we can actively help to create opportunities for our students, and benefit the community that helps to support us.
Faculty are an important part of this priority and can get involved by:
- Integrating service learning into your course(s) through community service and civic engagement, especially K-12 partnerships that can support educational attainment for underserved and underrepresented populations.
- Staying informed on employment requirements and opportunities for careers that your students are likely to pursue, and updating your courses and programs to help enhance students' career readiness.
- Getting involved in area organizations and building partnerships that might provide IU East students with networking opportunities, internships, future career opportunties, etc...
- Sharing ideas and opportunities with Career Services, External Affairs, and/or .... to build on relationships campus-wide.
